Continuous Move Planner

Functionality

Continuous Move Planner is a truckload tour building system that generates optimal matches of truckload moves for a given set of Origin-Destination pairs.  It is a stand-alone Windows application with an extremely user-friendly interface. Project setup and solution generation requires minimal user interaction virtually eliminating the learning curve on the system.

The system utilizes geographic information about the locations that constitute each Origin-Destination pair (Leg). Data can be imported from flat files and solutions can be exported as text, MS Word, or MS Excel. Continuous Move Planner uses powerful matching algorithms to minimize total time and mileage while maximizing capacity utilization.

Features

Data Management

Origin-Destination data can be imported into Continous Move Planner in the form of ASCII files. The data import wizard guides users through the setup process for importing Origin-Destination pair data into the system. Very minimal data entry is required during the setup.

Continuous Moves

The system uses robust matching algorithms to build continuous moves from the imported Origin-Destination pairs. The algorithms are controlled by the user-defined parameters.

Calculation Engine

Distance and time calculations can be imported from various sources or calculated by the system’s propriety engine. PCMiler and MapPoint time and distance data can also be utilized.

Solution and Presentation

A touring solution can be exported in the form of text files. Reports contain detailed information on all the continuous moves and any unmatched legs generated by the algorithm can be imported into MS Word or MS Excel for further configuration.

Continuous Move Planner provides a statistical summary of the touring solution each time the matching algorithm is executed.
